Privacy Policy
How Tanimawo AI Academy collects, uses and protects your information, in plain language.
Last updated: October 1, 2026
Tanimawo AI Academy ("the Academy", "we") runs free AI training classes led by Dr. Daniel Tanimawo and the website tanimawoai.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We never sell your personal information.
Information we collect
- When you register: your full name, email address, country, experience level, and (if you choose) your learning goals and interests.
- When you use learning features: your progress, such as lessons and quizzes completed, class check-ins, points, certificates, projects you choose to share, study group posts, applications for paid tasks, and assignments you submit.
- When you chat with the AI assistant: the messages you send and the replies, kept for 14 days so the conversation can continue.
- When you visit the website: which pages are viewed and which buttons are clicked, with a random visitor ID stored in your browser. We use this only to count visits and improve the site. Daily visit records are kept for 90 days.
- Technical information: your IP address is used to protect the site from abuse (for example, limiting how many messages can be sent) and is not used to identify you.
- If you choose to connect them: class alert notifications on your device, and your Telegram chat if you start our Telegram bot.
How we use your information
- To give you the free classes, class reminders, replays, certificates and learning tools.
- To show your progress and suggest your next steps.
- To answer your questions through the AI assistant.
- To keep the site safe and working, and to understand which features help students most.
Public pages such as leaderboards, study groups and the student gallery only show your first name and the first letter of your last name, never your email address or phone number.
Services we use
We share only what is needed with trusted services that help us run the Academy:
- OpenAI processes messages sent to the AI assistant and other AI features to generate replies.
- Microsoft Teams hosts the live classes.
- YouTube hosts class replays. Our system uses the YouTube API Services to read comments on the Academy's own YouTube channel and post replies from the channel. We do not collect or store any other information from your YouTube or Google account. By interacting with our YouTube channel you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's use of data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. You can remove the Academy's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Telegram delivers our community group and, if you choose, a short daily start for new students.
- Amazon Web Services hosts the website and its data.
Cookies and browser storage
We do not use advertising cookies. Your browser stores a few small items so the site works for you, such as your random visitor ID, a key that proves the device you registered on is yours, your theme and data saver settings, and any guides you save for offline use. You can clear these at any time in your browser settings.
How long we keep information
Registration and learning records are kept while you are part of the Academy so your progress and certificates stay available. Chat conversations are kept for 14 days and daily visit records for 90 days. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop receiving messages from us. Students in Nigeria have these rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, and students elsewhere may have similar rights under local law. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will reply within 30 days.
Children
The Academy's classes are designed for adults. If you are under 18, please use the Academy with a parent or guardian's permission. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Security
We use secure connections (HTTPS), keep data on protected servers, limit who can access it, and never ask for passwords, PINs, BVNs or bank details. If someone claiming to be from the Academy asks you for money or private details, do not respond and let us know.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Academy grows. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
