TaniX Chat
The Academy chat, in an app of its own
Connect is where students talk to each other and to Dr. Daniel. TaniX Chat is that chat and nothing else, on your computer and on your phone, so a message reaches you without opening the whole app.
- The same account you already use. No new sign-up.
- The same messages on your phone, your computer and inside TaniX.
- Connect stays in TaniX exactly as it is. This is an extra door, not a move.
One account
Sign in with the email you use for TaniX, or with Google. There is no separate chat account and nothing to set up.
One conversation
Read a message on your phone and it is read on your computer too. Unread counts, pinned chats and saved messages are the same everywhere.
Nothing is left behind
Channels, direct messages, groups, photos, voice notes, calls and @mentions all work exactly as they do inside TaniX.

How to install
- DownloadClick Download for Windows above. If your browser says the file "isn't commonly downloaded", choose Keep (in Edge: the … menu, then Keep, then Keep anyway).
- Open the fileOpen TaniX-Chat-<version>-win-x64.exe from your Downloads folder.
- "Windows protected your PC"Windows shows this for new apps. Click More info, then Run anyway.
- InstallKeep the suggested folder and click Install. No administrator password is needed.
- Open and sign inOpen TaniX Chat and sign in with your Academy email. It remembers you.
- Leave it runningClosing the window keeps the app in the system tray so messages still arrive. Right-click that icon for Start with my computer and Quit.
Already have the TaniX desktop app? Keep it. The two install side by side and you can be signed in to both at once.
- DownloadPick Apple chip or Intel above. Not sure? Apple menu → About This Mac: "Chip: Apple M…" means Apple chip.
- Open the .dmgDouble-click it, then drag TaniX Chat onto the Applications folder.
- First openOpen Applications, right-click TaniX Chat and choose Open. macOS asks once because the app is not signed by Apple yet; choose Open again.
- If it says the app is damagedGo to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway.
- Sign inUse your Academy email. The unread count then appears on the Dock icon.
- From Google PlaySearch TaniX Chat, or use the Play button above, then Install.
- Or from the .apkIf Dr. Daniel sends you the file instead: open it, and when Android asks "Allow this source to install apps?" turn it on, then come back and tap Install.
- Sign inYour Academy email, and the code that arrives in it. Or Continue with Google — it opens your browser for a second and comes straight back.
- Say yes to notificationsThat is how a new message reaches you with the app closed. You can change it later in the phone's settings.
- From the App StoreSearch TaniX Chat and tap Get.
- Or from TestFlightWhile the app is still being tested, open the invite link, install TestFlight if your phone asks, then tap Accept and Install.
- Sign inYour Academy email and its code, or Continue with Google.
- Allow notificationsiPhone asks once. If you say no, turning it back on means going to Settings → TaniX Chat → Notifications.
Questions
Is Connect leaving the TaniX app?
No. Connect stays exactly where it is, in the sidebar and in the top bar of TaniX, for everyone. TaniX Chat is for students who want the chat on its own.
Do I need a different account?
No. It is the same Academy account. Sign in with the same email, or with Google, and your conversations are already there.
If I read a message on my phone, is it still unread on my computer?
No. There is one set of messages. Read it anywhere and it is read everywhere, because every app is talking to the same place.
Can I have TaniX and TaniX Chat at the same time?
Yes, on a computer and on a phone. They install separately and each keeps its own sign-in, so both can be open at once.
Does it cost anything?
No. Like everything else in the Academy, it is free.
What about calls, voice notes and photos?
They all work. The app asks for the microphone, the camera or the screen the first time you use one, and only then.
