Connect Paystack to Your Website

Paystack is the easiest way to get paid by customers in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa. Cards, bank transfer and USSD all work, and the money goes into your Paystack account, not the Academy's.

1. Open a Paystack account

Go to paystack.com and sign up. You will need your business or personal details and a bank account for payouts. Paystack has to approve you before you can take live payments — do this part first, because the approval is the slow bit, not the setup here.

2. Find your secret key

In your Paystack dashboard, open Settings, then API Keys & Webhooks.

You will see two kinds of key:

• a public key (pk_...) — not the one you want
• a secret key (sk_...) — this is the one

Paystack gives you a test set and a live set. Start with the test one: sk_test_...

Your secret key is the key to your money. Never put it in your website's code, never paste it in a chat, never send it to anybody who asks — including anybody claiming to be from the Academy. It goes in one place only: the box in step 3.

3. Paste it into TaniX

Open your website's Admin Panel → Payments.

1. Choose Paystack
2. Paste your secret key
3. Choose your currency (NGN, GHS, KES, ZAR)
4. Save

TaniX locks the key away encrypted on the server. It is never sent to your web page, and it is never shown back to you — if you need to change it, you paste a new one.

4. Test before you go live

With your sk_test_ key in, open your website and buy something. Paystack's test cards are in their documentation — use one, finish the payment, and check:

• the thank-you note appears on your page
• the order shows up in Payments
• you get the Connect message and the phone notification

When all three work, go back to Paystack, copy the live secret key (sk_live_...), paste it in the same box, and save. You are open.

Things worth knowing

• Paystack needs the buyer's email. TaniX asks for it if your visitor is not signed in, so do not worry about it.
• One account, every website. Connect once and it works across all the websites you own.
• Your money is yours. It settles into your Paystack account on their normal schedule. The Academy is not part of the sale and takes nothing.
